As
long as human society has existed there has been
a need for people to gather together around common
goals and interests. That is why, here in Chicago
in 1992, the Serbian American Medical and Dental
Society (SAMDS) was formed.
Over
ten years that initial small group of physicians
and dentists of Serbian ancestry now has many members
and the list of their activities is long and diverse.
In the period of
ten years we have organized dozens of educational
lectures, we have sent medicines and medical equipment
to hospitals in Serbia, we came to the aid of many
local organizations and individuals who were in need
and we were hosts to many types of professional and
social gatherings.
Yet, SAMDS is
primarily a scientific and education society and
our purpose is to promote the highest professional
standards in education, research and in the practice
of medicine and dentistry.
